Ingrid McLeod is a Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner and former civil litigator in private practice.  Ingrid is a longtime Pierce County resident and graduate of Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Tacoma Community College, and the University of Washington – Tacoma.  Ingrid also holds degrees from the University of Washington – Seattle, New York University, and Seattle University School of Law.  She has held a wide variety of positions focused on helping others, from past work experience as an activity assistant at a local memory care center, to a substitute teacher in the Peninsula School District. 

 

Ingrid is deeply committed to family and the community.  She is the child of an immigrant whose family legally came to the United States from Finland for a fresh start in the early 1950s and a U.S. Navy Veteran.  Her family instilled in her a deep commitment to citizenship, education, service, and hard work.  Ingrid has served the local community through past Board service for the YWCA Pierce County; past volunteer legal service; is a current member of her local P.T.A.; and has worked on multiple community food, clothing, and school supplies drives.   In her personal life, Ingrid is happily married to a fellow public servant, and they are proud moms of two young children.
